In March 2028, Braunvieh Schweiz is jointly holding the BRUNA and the World Congress of the Brown Cattle Breeders' World Association. The venue is Messe Luzern. The event will last from 15 to 18 March 2028.
The BRUNA WORLD 28 brings two events together under one roof. The BRUNA is the national exhibition for the Brown Swiss and Original Braunvieh breeds and, in 2028, will simultaneously take place as a European show. The World Congress is the expert conference of the Brown Cattle Breeders' World Association and brings delegates from member countries to Switzerland. Braunvieh Schweiz expects around 300 international guests.
Hosting for the fourth time
Switzerland already hosted an international Brown Swiss conference in 1986, 1997 and 2012. The last World Congress in Switzerland took place in St Gallen in 2012. Messe Luzern was chosen for 2028. It offers exhibition halls, stables and conference rooms in one location and has good public transport links.
Next steps
Over the coming months, the programme, regulations and sponsorship will be finalised. The regulations are particularly important for breeders, as livestock registration is handled via the cantons. All information will be published on this website and in the newsletter.
