The BRUNA is the largest cattle show in Switzerland. In 2028 it will take place as an European show at the Messe Luzern and is therefore also the competition for the breeds Brown Swiss and Original Braunvieh at the European level. Rinders, first-lactating cows and cows in their second lactation from both breeding breeds will be exhibited. The cattle show is part of BRUNA WORLD 28 and takes place in parallel with the World Congress of the World Association for Brown Swiss.
The exhibition
On two exhibition days, the animals are shown and judged in the ring. The opening day on Friday features the cattle from both breeding lines and the cows from the Original Braunvieh breeding line. On Saturday, the cows from the Brown Swiss breeding line follow. The final day is the champion selection. The animals are brought in on Wednesday and taken out on Sunday.

Brown Swiss and Original Braunvieh
Brown Swiss
The Brown Swiss breed is known for its high milk yield, good protein content and longevity. It is widely distributed worldwide and originated from Swiss brown cow breeding.
Original Braunvieh
Original Braunvieh is the original Swiss form of the breed. It is kept as a dual-purpose breed and is strongly rooted in the mountain region.

Participation and registration of the animals
Registration of animals for BRUNA WORLD 28 is handled by the cantonal organizations. The regulations with the participation conditions, veterinary requirements and deadlines will be published on this website in a timely manner. We recommend that breeders subscribe to the newsletter so that they are informed about the publication of the regulations.
